ABOUT

TARYN HARNER is a painter, born in california and currently living in seattle, washington. she graduated from emporia state university in 2009 with a degree in the fine arts.

as for form, she uses acrylics, pens, pencils and ink and enjoys painting on canvas and masonite. she also paints on gessoed paper, in sketchbooks, and sometimes over old paintings. many paintings have intentionally obscured layers.

as for content, she paints reflexively, responding to stimulus in her environment. she filters and displays results through abstract atmospheric swirls, primarily featuring figures and organic shapes.

she is influenced by artists like JAMES JEANJOAO RUASMARGUERITE SAUVAGEMATTHEW WOODSONSAM WEBER, YOSHITAKA AMANO and more.
