taryn trousdale is a painter, born in california and currently living in wichita, kansas. she graduated from emporia state university in 2009 with a degree in the fine arts.
as for form, she uses acrylics, pens, pencils and ink and enjoys painting on canvas and masonite. she also paints on gessoed paper, in sketchbooks, and sometimes over old paintings. many paintings intentionally (and unintentionally) have multiple layers.
as for content, she uses imagery from her dreams, using visuals to interpret and share the moods and emotions. her paintings range from representational to abstract, primarily featuring figures and atmospheric swirls.
she is influenced by artists like JAMES JEAN, JOAO RUAS, KYOUNGHWAN KIM, MARGUERITE SAUVAGE, MATTHEW WOODSON, PHILLIP TOLEDANO, SAM WEBER, YOSHITAKA AMANO and more.
